Jenny’s Pizza



  • 1 package dry yeast (quick)
  • 1 1/2 cups warm water
  • 2 tablespoons oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup whole wheat flour
  • All purpose flour, as needed
  • Cornmeal, optional


  • 1-8 ounce can pizza sauce
  • 2 teaspoons oregano leaves
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1-4 cups of shredded Mozzarella (depending on how cheesy you want)


Dough: In 1 1/2 cups warm water, dissolve yeast.  In a medium bowl add yeast, oil, salt and flour, mix.  Start adding all purpose flour until it forms a workable ball;  knead 5 minutes. Place dough in a medium oiled bowlCover with a clean towel and place in a warm area, let rise for 20 minutes.  Spray large cookie sheet (approximately 11.5″ x 16.5″) with oil.  Sprinkle lightly with cornmeal if desired.  Pat dough out to cover bottom and sides of cookie sheet.

Pizza: Preheat oven to 400° F.  On top of cheese, add your favorite toppings.  For example, for a veggie pizza add chopped onions, sliced mushrooms, and green pepper rings.  For a sausage pizza, top with pre-cooked and drained Italian sausage.  Bake in oven for 20 minutes until lightly browned.  Serve immediately.

Yield:  8-10 servings
